Citrate Agar 500gm Himedia used for the cultivation of iron bacteria from soil samples. Citrate Agar is used for the cultivation of iron bacteria from soil samples. This media is recommended for the isolation of heterotrophic iron-precipitating bacteria. Dipotassium phosphate provides buffering to the medium. Magnesium sulfate, ammonium sulfate, and calcium chloride are sources of ions that stimulate metabolism. Ferric ammonium citrate is used as a source of carbon and sodium nitrate acts as a source of nitrogen.
