   Mueller Hinton Agar, 500gm Hi-Media for lab grade

  • Mueller Hinton Agar is primarily used for antimicrobial susceptibility testing.
  • It provides a standardized medium for the Kirby-Bauer disk diffusion method.
  • It supports the growth of a wide range of microorganisms.
  • The agar's low content of cations (Mg2+ and Ca2+) minimizes their interference with antimicrobial agents.

    • Preparation of MHA :

    1. Suspend 38 gm of the medium in one liter of distilled water..
    2. Autoclave at 121°C for 15 minutes. Cool to room temperature.
    3.  surface to give uniform depth.
    4. Allow to cool to room temperature.
    5. Check for the final pH 7.3 ± 0.1 at 25ºC.
    6. Store the plates at 2-8 ºC
