  • ASTM C778 is a standard specification from the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) that defines the requirements for graded sand used in concrete and mortar. This specification is particularly important in the construction industry, where sand is a vital component of concrete and mortar mixtures. ASTM Graded sand C778 is made of natural silica sand (silica content 99%), having a water content lower than 0.1 %. The constituent grains of this sand are uncrushed and of rounded form. It is packaged in a bag of 25 kg. The sand is used for testing hydraulic cement strength conforming to ASTM C109.
